Driving today can be a bit challenging—even in a parking lot! One day, while parked in a certain lot, our car received a nice ding in the side. You know, one of those times when folks opened their door and were not very careful about how they did that. That ding started to irritate me over time, so I headed out to a local body shop to see what could be done at a reasonable cost.

When I explained my dilemma to the only car guy in the shop, he came out and looked at it. He went back inside, got a rag with some magic liquid on it, and proceeded to remove the black mark on our white car like it had been a food stain. I was amazed to say the least. He said he had the name of a guy who could get the small dent out for next to nothing, so I followed him back into his office. This guy wasn’t even going to charge me for the help, even though I tried to share a little something with him.

In the midst of our debate on financial blessings, he began to break down and asked me instead to pray for his daughter, who was in the hospital. I said that I would pray with him right now and grabbed his hand while we both bombarded Heaven. A desperate plea. A divine appointment. A willing vessel. That’s what God is looking for. I’m no one special and I’ve failed God more times than I care to recount. But I can tell you that on this day I sure felt like I was part of a bigger plan by God Almighty.

But how about you? Are you on the lookout for opportunities to be an instrument of blessing? Sharing a prayer, a word of encouragement, a gift, some food, an ear to listen, a moment in your busy day. The Psalmist said in Ps 139:23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Being led in the “way everlasting” is letting Jesus Christ truly have lordship and leadership of your life. When that happens, you can rest assured that God will undoubtedly lead you to your own divine appointments…that can change someone’s life for eternity.

God’s best to you!
